Technology

One of the strategic aims of the Victorian Deaf Education Institute (VDEI) is to strengthen access, inclusion and engagement for students who are deaf or hard of hearing through the use of cutting edge technologies, and to improve access for education professionals to learning programs and curriculum.

VDEI is a technology hub, allowing workshops and seminars to be beamed to teachers and students in remote and regional areas across Victoria using high-density information technology. This ensures that students who are deaf or hard of hearing receive the best educational opportunities, regardless of location.

VDEI’s facilities include lecture room space, state of the art interactive multi-media, and videoconferencing facilities, all of which facilitate the participation of national and international speakers in lectures and workshops.
