Graduate Certificate in Education (Learning Difficulties) Program
Upskill in Learning Difficulties and Make a Real Impact Where It Matters Most
Are you a Teacher of the Deaf looking to strengthen your skills in supporting students with additional learning needs beyond sensory disability? The Graduate Certificate in Education (Learning Difficulties) is your opportunity to build specialist knowledge in identifying and responding to learning difficulties — particularly in literacy and numeracy — and apply it directly within your deaf education practice.
This fully funded scholarship program is designed for Victorian government school teachers and can be completed part-time over one or two years. It's a flexible, practical course tailored for working teachers, enabling you to immediately implement evidence-based strategies to improve outcomes for deaf and hard of hearing students who may also experience learning difficulties.
It's also an ideal pathway for Teachers of the Deaf who want to lead school-wide interventions, support Disability Inclusion teams, and expand their inclusive education expertise.
Plus — you'll gain 50% Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) towards the Master of Learning Intervention at the University of Melbourne, giving you a valuable head start should you wish to continue your postgraduate study.
Applications open 9:00am Monday 2 February 2026 and close 11:59pm Monday 16 March 2026.
