Hoodie Up 2026 takes place on 19 March and people across Australia are encouraged to wear a hoodie and show their support for autistic people and celebrate neurodiversity.

Hoodie Up is Amaze's annual awareness and fundraising campaign that celebrates diversity as something lived, not labelled.
It fosters inclusion by recognising everyday experiences, encouraging conversations and creating space for understanding, and highlights that hoodies are an easy self-regulation tool that can provide comfort and safety for someone experiencing sensory overload.
An estimated two per cent of children with permanent hearing loss also have autism spectrum disorders. For individuals with autism and deafness, sensory-friendly environments – and an everyday item like a hoodie – can provide a safe and comfortable space where they can engage with their environment without feeling overwhelmed or overstimulated.
This year, Hoodie Up takes place during Neurodiversity Celebration Week 16 – 20 March
By advocating for and promoting the use of sensory-friendly environments, and creating spaces that accommodate diverse needs, we can help create a more inclusive society where everyone feels valued and respected.
