This week from 13 to 17 May we celebrate Education Week, an annual celebration of education in Victoria. This year’s theme is ‘Spotlight on STEM’ and highlights the importance of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics in our classrooms and everyday lives.
In committing to building STEM capabilities in our young learners in Victoria, we also want to ensure that our deaf and hard of hearing students are provided with opportunities to experience the benefit of developing skills in scientific inquiry and conceptual understanding.
By participating in STEM experiences, deaf and hard of hearing students are encouraged to become self-directed learners who demonstrate curiosity, persistence, independence and an ability to engage in debate and discussion.
