Education Week is an annual celebration of education in Victoria that acknowledges the essential role education plays in the lives of our children and young people in Victorian schools. This year’s theme, ‘Active Learners: Move, Make, Motivate’ celebrates physical activity, hands-on learning and student voice in education.
For deaf and hard of hearing students, Education Week is an opportunity to share their learning experiences with their teachers, peers and support staff and to raise awareness of the value of inclusion in their school communities. Deaf and hard of hearing students become strong and active learners when their teachers and support staff understand the impact of deafness on students' learning and ensure that learning environments are equitable and inclusive.
The Victorian Deaf Education Institute (VDEI) invites you to visit the VDEI Professional Learning catalogue to access professional learning that strengthens the knowledge and practice of educators who support deaf and hard of hearing students.
