30,000 new jobs are predicted in the next 5 years for education support workers.
Melbourne Polytechnic are commencing a new course in 2023, a dual qualification in Education Support and Auslan. Education support staff work directly with students in the classroom providing assistance in literacy and numeracy to students with a disability, or those who need additional learning support. The course also includes Auslan skills, learning basic communication and the history and culture of the Australian Deaf community.
