Professional Learning Overview
VDEI designs and delivers a high-quality, evidence-based Professional Learning Program that has a strong focus on current research and leading professional practice in the deaf and inclusive education fields. The program is designed to support the important role that educators and allied professionals play in enabling inclusive learning opportunities for all students.
Professional learning is presented by high-calibre national and international experts on a range of topics relevant to the educational needs and outcomes of students with diverse learning needs.
VDEI’s Professional Learning Program is underpinned by state-of-the-art technology that provides educators and professionals with a range of access options to professional learning.
VDEI Digital Learning
VDEI's digital learning is supported by Inclusive Education Professional Learning (IEPL) Canvas the Department of Education's Learning Management System (LMS). IEPL hosts a range of on-demand presentations and courses for flexible and accessible online learning. Access to each presentation is provided for multiple weeks, depending on the module, which allows viewers to revisit the module and engage in professional learning at a time that suits them.
A range of online resources are also made available via VDEI's Digital Resource Hub to support leading practice in inclusive education.
VDEI Live Events
VDEI also hosts a range of live professional learning events, either online or in-person. All VDEI live events have the option of remote access registration to allow participants located outside of Melbourne to participate in real-time.
The VDEI Professional Learning Program Catalogue provides up-to-date information on upcoming events and professional learning opportunities to support educators and professionals to engage in customised, targeted learning either individually or as part of their professional learning communities.
Group Booking Discounts
VDEI offers a group discount to schools and workplaces who wish to register multiple staff to attend an event or access a presentation or course via IEPL. To access group discounts, the total number of registrations must be included in a single order. At the time of registering online, the booking discount will be automatically applied at checkout. Access Options
Participants of VDEI's live events have the option to request captioning or Auslan as part of their event booking. A request for captioning or Auslan must be made no later than 3 business days in advance of the scheduled event date.
VDEI's digital learning resources and on-demand presentations are captioned.
